The pharmaceutical cartel and their foot soldiers have convinced much of the public for around 100 years that it’s 1 pill for 1 problem. Therefore it’s natural that people who come into natural health think that 1 supplement will do 1 thing. Then there’s this weird superstition that if 1 compound benefits 5 different things then its like a jack of all trades instead of a master on 1 area. We, must all get past this generational brainwashing. If you’re reading this you’re already awake, or maybe needed a reminder and at least can go forth and tell others.
I’m sorry this compound isn’t more exciting and just been discovered in a cave found under the Amazon jungle, but I can tell you that finally using it properly at the dose that actually works and not the pipsqueak dose most brands suggest is life changing. We are going to talk the correct dosage regardless of the cost, it’s about the result, how much you need and your freedom to say, I have the info now, I’ll either eat a load of food containing it, hypnotise myself in a placebo way that I’m getting it or just buy it. The compound that will boost male and female fertility, brain health, heart health and mental health is…

Krill Oil brings together several things the body genuinely needs in one exceptionally functional source. The EPA and DHA aren’t simply floating around as ordinary triglycerides. They are naturally bound to phospholipids, the same fundamental fats that form the structure of our cell membranes. Your brain, heart, nerves, eyes, blood vessels and reproductive cells are all built around membranes that depend on the right fats. EPA and DHA support normal cardiovascular function, healthy blood lipid balance and the normal operation of the brain and nervous system.
Brain Health & Mood Lift
DHA is a major structural component of brain tissue and neuronal membranes, helping maintain the physical structure and function of billions of brain cells. EPA is heavily involved in cellular signalling and inflammatory pathways, making the 2 fats complementary rather than interchangeable. Together, they support healthy communication between brain cells, normal nervous-system function and the maintenance of the membranes that allow neurons to work efficiently.
The Omega-3 research around mood, stress resilience, cognitive function and mental wellbeing is so extensive. Some people notice the difference as clearer thinking, better emotional balance or a more stable mood rather than some dramatic “buzz.” That is exactly what I find interesting. You aren’t trying to stimulate the brain artificially. You are supplying one of the fundamental building materials the brain actually uses. I want to be clear, there are some awful things consistently going on in the world and probably many of your lives, stress, relationships, work, at bad times in my life I’ve wanted to give up. These things will always be there, Krill Oil isn’t going to make them go away but it will help you cope mentally with those things, it will promote balance over mental noise. It really is mind, body, spirit, and these fats are also deeply connected to mental wellbeing. Omega-3 status has been extensively studied in relation to mood, depression and cognitive health, with EPA in particular attracting attention for its role in emotional wellbeing and brain signalling.
Female Fertility
The ovaries are extremely active tissues and developing eggs have substantial energy and membrane requirements. Omega-3 fatty acids are incorporated into cell membranes and influence the signalling environment around reproductive tissues, while DHA is particularly important in rapidly developing cells. A good Omega-3 status has been associated in research with aspects of ovarian function, oocyte quality, embryo development and reproductive health.
Eyes
Your eyes are rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, particularly DHA, which is an important structural component of the retina. EPA and DHA help maintain healthy retinal cell membranes and support normal visual function, while their involvement in inflammatory signalling and cellular protection makes them particularly interesting for long-term eye health. Krill Oil provides EPA and DHA together with naturally occurring astaxanthin, giving the eyes both essential marine Omega-3s and antioxidant support. DHA is especially important because the retina has one of the highest concentrations of DHA in the body, making a reliable supply of these fats an important part of maintaining healthy vision through our endless journey.
Heart / Vessel Health
I think this is what Krill first ever really got known for, its heart benefits are massive. EPA and DHA are powerful allies for cardiovascular health. They support healthy triglyceride levels, give heart function and flexibility of blood vessels. These Omega-3s are incorporated into cell membranes throughout the cardiovascular system and influence signalling involved in the body’s inflammatory response and vascular function. EPA and DHA also support healthy blood flow and function of the endothelium, the delicate inner lining of your blood vessels. Krill Oil provides these marine Omega-3s alongside phospholipids and Astaxanthin, creating a highly functional combination for supporting the heart, circulation and vascular system. Can you see why I opened with the whole “1 compound can have multiple benefits”? Just this heart part alone is multiple. It’s like a heart multi.
Anti-Inflammatory
The EPA and DHA will help your body maintain a healthy inflammatory balance. They become incorporated into cell membranes and influence the production of signalling molecules involved in the body’s inflammatory response. EPA is particularly involved in pathways that help regulate inflammatory activity, while DHA contributes to the production of specialised compounds involved in bringing inflammatory processes towards resolution. This makes EPA and DHA important nutritional fats for maintaining a balanced response throughout the body, supporting healthy joints, cardiovascular function, brain health and overall cellular wellbeing. With Krill Oil, these Omega-3s are delivered alongside phospholipids and the naturally occurring Astaxanthin, adding further antioxidant support to this powerful combination.
Cellular Power
Every cell in your body depends on healthy cell membranes, and Omega-3 fatty acids are important components of those membranes. EPA and DHA from Krill Oil become incorporated into cellular membranes, helping maintain their structure, flexibility and ability to communicate properly. DHA is particularly important in tissues with high membrane demands, including the brain, eyes and nervous system. The phospholipids naturally present in Krill Oil add another layer to this cellular support because phospholipids are fundamental building blocks of cell membranes. Alongside this, naturally occurring astaxanthin provides antioxidant protection against oxidative stress, helping protect cellular components from damage. Together, EPA, DHA, phospholipids and astaxanthin make Krill Oil much more than an Omega-3 source. It provides the body with essential structural fats and antioxidant support that help maintain healthy cells, cellular communication and normal function throughout the body.
Skin Benefit
Healthy skin is built from the inside out, and EPA and DHA provide some of the most important fats involved in maintaining healthy skin cell membranes. These Omega-3s become incorporated into the membranes of skin cells, helping support their structure, flexibility and ability to communicate effectively. This is particularly important for the skin barrier, which helps retain moisture and protects the body from the outside environment. Adequate Omega-3 intake can therefore support smoother, healthier-looking skin and help maintain the skin’s natural ability to stay hydrated and resilient. EPA and DHA also influence inflammatory signalling, helping support a balanced response to the everyday environmental and metabolic stresses that skin encounters.
Its naturally occurring Astaxanthin is a powerful antioxidant that helps protect cells from oxidative stress, including the oxidative stress generated by normal metabolism and environmental exposure. This is particularly relevant to skin because the skin is constantly exposed to sunlight, pollution and other sources of oxidative stress. Antioxidant protection helps preserve the integrity of cellular structures and supports healthy ageing of the skin. Meanwhile, the phospholipids naturally present in Krill Oil provide additional building blocks for cell membranes, complementing the EPA and DHA and helping deliver these functional fats into the body’s cellular machinery.
Your skin is a living, constantly renewing organ made up of billions of cells, and those cells need the right fats to maintain their membranes, communicate and function properly. EPA and DHA support the skin from within by contributing to membrane structure, healthy inflammatory balance and cellular resilience, while astaxanthin brings powerful antioxidant activity to the equation. Together, these nutrients provide a comprehensive nutritional approach to maintaining healthy, hydrated, resilient skin and supporting the body’s natural defences against oxidative stress. Over time, giving the body a consistent supply of high-quality marine Omega-3s can become part of a much bigger strategy for healthy ageing, where the goal isn’t simply to make the skin look better temporarily, but to give the cells themselves the nutritional raw materials they need to remain healthy and functional.
Astaxanthin
I’ve mentioned Astaxanthin 3 times now so I’ll get into quick. It is a powerful carotenoid antioxidant naturally present in Antarctic Krill Oil. This gives the formula another layer of cellular protection against oxidative stress. For me, this is where Krill Oil gets interesting. It isn’t just about getting “some Omega-3.” It is about supplying the body with highly functional marine lipids that can become part of the machinery your cells use every single day. Brain function, cardiovascular health, cellular membranes, nervous system function and healthy ageing all depend on this underlying biology. But honestly if you want the extended benefits of Astaxanthin you should take an isolated supplement, the amount in Kirll is more support rather than therapeutic.

My gran took Krill Oil back in the 90’s, thats where I first saw it. When I was building the inventory of Ancient Purity I knew I had to put it in. The only thing I’ve come to learn more over time is getting the dose right. I’ll get to that, first I want to explain what we have. Because not all Krill is created equal, the price matters for a reason. Krill is my choice firstly because it doesn’t absorb the heavy metals and other toxins and yes that includes the dreaded micro-plastics. I wanted to take Krill, I want to give it to people who come in store or call us and my friends and family. So it really really matters to me that it’s the best, I want the best for myself and I want to share the world with healthy. happy people so this is the Krill to help with that
Our Krill Oil comes from Antarctic krill harvested in remote Antarctic waters, using Rimfrost Krill Oil with MSC and Friend of the Sea certifications supporting responsible and sustainable harvesting. The Antarctic source is important because Krill from these remote waters are far removed from many of the pollution sources associated with heavily industrialised coastal environments. It naturally contains Astaxanthin, which helps protect the oil itself from oxidation while contributing antioxidant activity. Now this antioxidant is natural, no need to add anything to extend the life.
We then go another step further by storing the finished product in Miron “Dark Violet Glass” protecting the oil from damaging light and helping maintain freshness and stability. They’re not just to look flash, it’s by design.
How much Krill Oil and How to take…
Time to get real now, if you find Krill Oil much cheaper and saying 1000mg in a soft gel I would question it. We negotiated the best we could on this Krill as we have to make money to continue, we have to make money to live in this insanely expensive for no reason world.
I know what Krill costs for quality and when I see supplements at low prices high doses I wonder WTF is really in that? Are these companies even putting Krill Oil in the supplement? who’s going to stop them. The supplement industry is a nightmare. Have you ever been scammed? scammers move into every area of life. There’s a new supplement company daily. It’s very hard to get quality stuff, I question how brands come out of nowhere with cheap high dose supplements, did they have some millions to spend and buy in such bulk to get some insane wholesale price or are they lying about whats in it? sorry for the rant I digress.
My promise to you is our Krill is REAL, the quality is 10. The soft gels I think work best as 500mg.
You need 1 gram daily, but you could benefit hugely from a first round of 2000mg so 2g daily for a while first. Catch up, feed, restore. Then if you are actually dealing with an issue or have severe concerns about your cognitive and/or mental health you could go in deep at 4 grams 4000mg and then work your way to a maintenance dose.
Now on the lower side or if you are really on a budget a threshold level of 300 milligrams of DHA will suffice for attention. With DHA it might be particularly beneficial for individuals with genetic susceptibility to serious cognitive decline. I think 2 grams of DHA can be effective. I want to really emphasise here that we are only talking about EPA DHA in Krill Oil. This article is specifically about Krill. So you’re not looking to Krill to save the day but rather be a major part of your regime. If you look in the Guides you’ll find ones on a total program for cognitive health.
A good place to start is you’d take 4 of our soft gels of Krill Oil daily, then go down to 2 daily. But at 2 I would make sure you still get weekly food intake too.
To summarise – Take the Krill Oil supplement, make it a permanent feature, it is for me. Then top it up with EPA and DHA rich foods. There are so many other benefits to those foods and it will keep the cost down compared to going through a jar in 2 weeks. So get a supplement use it smart and check the levels in the foods and incorporate them into your diet. With this in mind let’s move on to how to add the foods in to get you up to a serious therapeutical dose of DHA and EPA.

Eating for it.
Seeing as I said get food intake, this is my guide to adding in food for it. First off Krill Oil is food, it’s just in a soft gel but if you want to get more grams daily these foods are sources. With Sardines and Mackerel being the top sources. By top I mean that they have good other benefits and taste good. I don’t think I could eat that many anchovies and Salmon just isn’t trustworthy.
I must also say don’t eat tinned food, it’s micro plastic and often fluoride added trash. You will be healthier, happier and younger avoiding tinned foods. The exact number varies substantially by species, whether it’s wild/farmed, raw/cooked and preparation, so the cleanest comparison is mg per 100g.

Fish Roe / Caviar
A real favourite of mine but not a permanent feature in my diet. It is much more variable depending on the species and preparation, so I wouldn’t give you one “exact” number without specifying the roe. Salmon roe, Herring roe and Sturgeon caviar can have substantially different EPA/DHA concentrations.
Food & Supplement is the Way
The big takeaway is that oily fish absolutely can deliver serious amounts of EPA and DHA. 100g portions of herring or anchovies can provide around 2000mg (2 grams) combined, while salmon is generally around 1800 – 2000 mg depending on type. Remember the Ancient Purity Krill Oil supplement contains 1000mg of Krill Oil, but that is NOT the same thing as 1000mg of EPA and DHA. The actual EPA and DHA amounts on the product’s Supplement Facts panel are the numbers we should compare against these foods. So the breakdown of our Krill Oil is
Vitamin A 100.0iu 2%
Phospholipids (Omega-3 rich) 420.0mg
EPA 150.0mg
DHA 90.0mg
Astaxanthin 1.5mg
Now remember here we are talking a concentrated food supplement, the powerful Omega 3, food, bioavailable Vitamin A and a decent dose of Astaxanthin. So double the numbers above with 2 soft gels and of course I said you can start with 4, then 3 then maintenance of 2. But food is a must or you’ll be spending nearly £80 on Krill Oil a month. Sorry to repeat but you must eat for DHA and EPA with the Krill Oil.
Plant foods such as Flaxseed, Chia seeds, Hemp seeds, Walnuts and Soybeans provide ALA (alpha-linolenic acid). The body can convert ALA into EPA and DHA, but the conversion is limited, particularly for DHA.
So what I’m personally doing is, taking 2 soft gels of Krill daily, it’s £39.99, it’s real, it works, you can relax and know its quality. Along with the 2 soft gels I’m eating sardines a few times a week, sometimes tuna, occasional oysters. Please don’t email about heavy metals haha I know I really know. My answer is.. what kind of life do you want? live rolled in bubblewrap in a forest far away from civilisation. Detox just has to be part of life, I hate it, I don’t want to do detox protocols and drink Bentonite Clay as my morning latte but we had an industrial revolution there’s no escape from living in this generation. Detoxing has to be part of your life. So eat smart, accept not everything out there can be clean anymore, there’s wind, crop sprays go everywhere, pollution travels. Just do your best in this world, and Krill really can help you be your best. It’s going to be part of my supplement regime for the next million years
